At the start of this program, I had just left the corporate world & had high hopes for my family that mostly involved food self-sufficiency. While those goals still exist, this project morphed immensely from what I had originally envisioned, and the process of going through this PDC program while in such a state of life transitions stretched my understanding of permaculture in ways I didn’t expect. For example, I am now conscientious of how to make the economics of a property sustainable while trying to enact good within the community. It is no longer just about food or just about gardening for me, and I am very grateful for the understanding of the underlying social structures that go into a good design.
