Studying permaculture evolved from a somewhat passive way to increase my own food security and self-sufficiency into a more active way of understanding the relationships necessary to design larger solutions. Beyond living my own life in alignment with my values, I was empowered to actively promote those lifestyle choices, amplifying the impact of my individual actions and leveraging them to promote social and environmental justice.
